Week 3 in Texas

The past week has been a very full on week. We’ve been in different sessions everyday from 8am until 4pm (plus a few breaks in between). The sessions have been really good, but exhausting. It has felt a bit like being at church camp or conference. So much great teaching, but a lot of it. I don’t have many pictures from the week, as we were in class most of the time.

We’ve had a variety of sessions including Introduction to Mercy Ships, the Hows of Mercy Ships, The God We Serve (looking at who God is), Two Kingdoms (about the Kingdom of God vs the worldly kingdom), Transitions (a bit of the theory of transitions in life), Identity in Christ, Hearing the Voice of God and many more.

We ended the week with a 3 hour silent retreat where we got to go outside and the purpose was for us to spend the 3 hours with God, without our phones or any other technology. This was a great time where God spoke to people through nature and the Bible.

My weekend was a very relaxing weekend. I stayed on campus and did very little. A lot of other people went off campus. It was exactly what I needed.

We only have a few days left now until we leave Texas and head to our ships. It will be a little sad saying goodbye to some of the friends I have made who are going to a different ship, but I’m also excited to finally get to the ship.
