School has started and life has started to get busy. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t taken the opportunity to explore Madagascar a little bit and have some fun adventures.
Last weekend I got to get off ship for the day and head to Ivoloina Parc Zoologique, which is a lemur park/zoo where they have some lemurs and other animals that have been rescued or injured. We got to enjoy walking through the Madagascar forest, seeing animals and enjoying the scenery.

There a number of Australians onboard at the moment, so we regularly get together and just enjoy a taste of home. Last Sunday we got to hang out and we had TimTams, Minties and Milo.

This weekend was a ship holiday, so we got to enjoy a long weekend with no school on Friday. To celebrate I went whale watching on Friday afternoon. The boat was a lot smaller than whale watching boats in Australia. We saw a lot of spouts of water from the whales from a distance, but we didn’t see very many whales up close. Even so, it was still a great afternoon out on the water. The water wasn’t super rough, but there were a lot of big waves. The tour guides threw out a couple of lines behind us as we went looking for whales and ended up catching 2 large wahoo about 15-20kg each.

On the way back in from whale watching we came by the ship from the other direction. In the picture below I have circled approximately where my room is on the ship. No window as we are right near the front.

There are a lot of big decisions needing to be made on ship at the moment and a lot of uncertainty. Please pray for the leadership team as they make these decisions and for peace for the crew during these times.
